We do not need a Richard Attenborough to make Gandhi and a Danny Boyle to make Slum Dog Millionaire. We need Indian directors making films on India.' said film producer Ashok Amritraj at the award function of ninth Chennai International Film Festival in Chennai yesterday.
'The industry which is among the best in the world should come with more original stories. We need to pay more attention to writers and give them more credit for their contribution.' added Amritraj.
The festival featured 150 films from 44 countries. Special competitions were organized for Tamil films. The festival was organized by Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation in association with film fraternity.
