Mani Rathnam’s new film Kadal (Kadali in Telugu) shooting started in Manapad. It is a coastal village that lies between Tuticorin and Tiruchendur. This film is a love story with a different backdrop.

Popular Tamil actor Karthik’s son Gautham is playing the lead role in Kadal. Samantha is roped into play the female
lead. Lakshmi Manchu is doing a key role. Arjun plays the antagonist and Aravind Swamy does a crucial character in the movie.
