Wrongly convicted in the cheating case that was in the hearing since 26 years has recently got a clean chit for veteran actor Srinivasamurthy from High Court of Karnataka.
The case was taken to Supreme Court of India recently but the appeal was not granted saying the HC of Karnataka verdict is correct. Srinivasamurthy is further happy as it has brought a big relief in his life ultimately.
One of the towering actors with good track record in the character roles Srinivasamurthy was happy when High Court has set aside the cheating case that was filed 26 years ago. Justice V Jagannath has quashed the cheating case filed on Srinivasamurthy and Fazalulla. In the session court actor Srinivasamurthy faced the
imprisonment for cheating case of 1987. Justice V Jagannath has quashed the cheating case filed on Srinivasamurthy and Fazalulla.
It was in 1987 when ‘Bala Nauke’ Kannada film was made it was alleged that Srinivasamurthy has done forgery to the tune of Rs.3.27lakh. Based on this JFC ordered three years imprisonment and Rs.1000 fine for the two. Srinivasamurthy and Fazalulla appealed to the district court and found the order not in favor. In the year 2007 Srinivasamurthy and FAzalulla went to the High Court questioning the order of the district court.
On 5th September 2011 Justice V Jagannath set aside the previous orders and freed Srinivasmurthy and Fazalulla from all charges.
