Theni Mavattam Movie Review

Fight for right

It is a serious film starring newcomers. It carries a string message -the need to preserve our agricultural lands. A crusade by one - man against greedy realtors forms the crux.

Story

GK is a happy-go-lucky-youngster who has a mission. He in his Nellai district is worried about agricultural being usurped for realty purposes. He wages a war against the selfish men involved in reality business trying to take away lands. He initiates green revolution understanding that agriculture is the backbone of our economy. There is also emotion and romance besides humour packed at appropriate places by the director. How he goes on to achieve his mission forms the story.

Performance

GK besides producing plays the lead role. Varsha is the heroine. There are some known faces too in the movie. However the lead pair can be forgiven for they are appearing before the camera for the first time. There is nothing much to rave, while the story takes care of the rest.

Analysis

Music by Kingsley Vincent. A couple of loud songs and a few with rustic beats form part of the movie. The director could have pictures them well. The theme is new. But the treatment looks old. But Gowmarimuthu can be appreciated for handling a different theme.
