'Super Star' Rajinikanth hogged all limelight as he was present at the annual celebrations of Ashram Schools, run by his wife Latha Rajinikanth in Chennai.

The Ashram Group of Institutions organised grand celebrations in which Rajinikanth presided over and gave away many awards. The awards conferred include veteran actress Asha Parekh,
acclaimed director K Balachander and late Shammi Kapoor being conferred Rajinikanth Legend Award, V S Raghavan (Chevalier Sivaji Ganesan award), Kalyana Krishna Somayaaji (Bheeshma award), Venugopal Chandrasekar, A L Raghavan, M N Rajam, Film News Anandan and  Thetakudi Harihara Vikku Vinayakram (Bheeshma award).

Variety entertainment programmers were also organised as part of the celebrations.
