'The Dirty Picture' completes 50 days today and to celebrate the film's success, the makers have reinstated it in a large number of screens across the country. The film has netted over 80 crores already and while the awards journey has already begun, Vidya too is more than thrilled with its success.
"You know, during the making of the film none of us ever thought that 'The Dirty Picture' was a woman oriented film film being made," says Vidya in an earnest tone, "Yes, the central character was a woman but then we didn't want that to put any limitations or restrictions in our story telling. We believed that we all were working
towards making a good film and that's about it. In fact Mahesh Bhatt also said to me that 'The Dirty Picture' showed how much respect Milan and I had for women due to which we could tread a fine line and still come out unscathed."
Now that she has moved on to 'Kahaani', Vidya is happy going through all the comments and compliments that have already started pouring in just on the basis of its First Look.
"Yeah, now I just want to sit back and enjoy for a while. It is so gratifying and humbling to be going through all the SMSs from family, friends, industry and media. The phone continues to ring and that is such a blessed feeling," she smiles before signing off.
