The mega fight in the Kannada Film Industry has evolved with the major two bodies flexing muscles. The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce is filing a defamation case for Rs.50 crores against the bribe allegation made by Kannada Film Producers Association.
The KFCC President KV Chandrasekhar has sent fax letter to the media on Sunday evening after knowing the contents in the advertisements released by Kannada Film Producers Association.
The Kannada Film Producers Association President Munirathna Naidu in his reply says the
allocation of 100 theatres for non Kannada films is a document to prove that KFCC members have taken bribe in release of non Kannada films.
However on the anti Kannada film stand taken up by KFCC the producer sector is staging a mammoth dharna and burning effigies of some personalities of KFCC on 25th of January 2012 at 11.30 am. The Producers, actors, directors, cinema workers, Kannada associations are taking part in the protest.
In the advertisement released the KFPA has stated that in the case of registration of producers, titles, censor, 100 percent exemption and even in release of ads KFCC guidelines are not correct.
KFCC President KV Chandrasekhar and secretary of exhibitors sector Thomas D Souza have received kickbacks in releasing Non Kannada films in over 100 theatres.
