If reports are to be believed Karan Johar’s latest production ‘Agneepath’ that is the remake of the Amitabh Bachchan starrer classic with the same name has set the box office registers on fire. Thanks to the huge buzz around the film it has managed to bring back the audience to the theatres as on the opening day the occupancy in theatres screening ‘Agneepath’ was 90-95%. Trade Pundits have claimed that the film could hit the houseful tag in the weekend as the bookings have been going super strong. Many theatres including the famous ‘Maratha Mandir’ in Mumbai are fully booked for the next four days.

The film has broken the opening day box office collection records of last year hits like ‘Bodyguard’, ‘Ra.One’ and ‘Singham’ as it has apparently collected an overwhelming Rs 25 crore on its very first day. This has left Karan on a high and he says that he is striving for more, “I have tasted blood now don’t know what next” said Karan. He further exclaimed that the attempt was a tribute to his father’s unfulfilled dream, “It’s a tribute to my father. It’s a special film for us it was not an easy task. To make a cult classic it comes with a lot of expectations and baggage. You are working against that baggage and trying to make your mark and I am happy that we have made an impression already” added Karan.
