Finally Shankar speaks out on Nanban:Cinejwala:

The highest paid director of Indian cinema Shankar is upbeat at the BO results for his recent release nanban. Starring Vijay, Srikanth and Jeeva in lead roles, the movie a remake of Hindi hit Three Idiots, opened big.

Says Shankar, 'When I got the offer to direct this film, it was with Vijay in the lead. I was sure he could pull off Aamir’s role and that’s why I signed on the film. Everyone liked Nanban more because Vijay has done something different from his usual roles.'




Asked on doing a remake, he says, 'I never expected to ever do a remake. This was a new experience, unexpected, but I won’t do another remake. Not even a remake of my own film'.
