South remakes have struck the chord with Bollywood audience big time that many Bollywood makers are taking super hit South hits to Hindi. Legendary director Mani Ratnam’s films turned red hot in this trend.
Hindi producers are vying to buy the remake rights of Mani Rathnam’s classics. Recently Bharath Shah bought the remake rights of Thalapathy (Dalapathi) and now the latest news is Rohith Shetty bought the remake rights of Agni Nachathiram (Gharshana). Ajay Devgn is likely to play the hero in it.
Rohith Shetty and Ajay Devgn made a hundred crore film out of Suriya’s Singam in Hindi. Therefore they are trying to repeat the feat by remaking Mani’s Gharshana. Buzz has it that Mani’s Sakhi and few other films to be remade in Hindi.
