Urumi, the Malayalam blockbuster by cinematographer - director Santosh Sivan, is set to speak in Tamil. The Tamil version is titled as Urumi, Pathinaitham Nootrandu Uraivaal.
The movie features Genelia D'Souza, Prithviraj, Prabhu Deva, Arya, Nithya Menon, Tabu and Vidya Balan in hot roles and they are the female lead.
The historical epic film was scripted by Shankar Ramakrishnan and directed by Santosh Sivan. The movie is about a youth who wanted to kill Vasco Da Gama and is set in the backdrop of the fierce warrior clan of northern Kerala in the sixteenth century and focuses on the cult of a Chirakkal Kelu Nayanar (played by Prithviraj)
Deepak Dev has composed the songs and the background score. Sreekar Prasad is the editor and Anal Arasu is the director.
