It is not ‘Save Our Souls’ but ‘Save Our Society’ is the call of this film ‘Paper Dhoni’. Enthusiastic director RR Nayak has covered up various social issues in the film and via a rag picker how the solution is possible even for international problems is focused in the cinematic presentation.
RK Nayak of ‘Paper Dhoni’ has done the story, screenplay, writing dialogues. For him one of the sharp reports in a newspaper is the inspiration for this film. The farmer suicide, naxalite, killings of women in singular houses, corruption etc are dealt in this film.
A ‘Paper Dhoni’ a boat made in a paper may sink, stop or sail for reaching destination. When Nayak prepared the story long ago recently Kannada film ‘Super’ of Upendra consisted of the same inputs. He dropped his idea and written another story. The assistants in the direction, camera, and music are working in this film.
According to the protagonist Naveen Krishna the producer Janardhan and Nayak came to him when he and his family were in financial difficulty. There is ‘effort and hard work’ for this film. It is revolutionary subject to save our society. It is vague and absurd for some but a solution is needed for problems. There are six songs in the film and it is not found in any of my earlier films.
Janardhan is a garment factory owner and social servant producing this film. Shanthala alias Thungasri plays a doctor in this film. This is her fourth film in Kannada.
